Evelyn Ernestina Bessie Teichelman f. Luedtke 1922–2014

Evelyn was born July 27, 1922 in Taylor, Texas. She passed away December 4, 2014 in her home in Round Rock, Texas. She was the second child and youngest daughter of Herman Henry George Luedtke, Sr. and Lucy Maggie (Dentler) Luedtke. Both parents and sister, Muriel Lucy Julia (Luedtke) Vaughan, preceded her in death. Evelyn's brother, Herman H.G. Luedtke, Jr. resides in California.

Evelyn graduated from Taylor High School in 1940. She immediately enrolled in the Brackenridge School of Nursing where she earned her RN (Registered Nurse) status. Evelyn married Roland Walter Teichelman, Sr. December 5, 1943. Roland passed away 4 July 2014, after 70 years of happy marriage.

Evelyn and Roland moved to Austin, Texas in 1949. Roland continued in banking and Evelyn as a Registered Nurse. She practiced this profession for 27 years, with six of those years as supervisor of the Brackenridge Hospital Intensive Care Unit. When Roland retired from banking, he and Evelyn had the opportunity to fulfill a dream of touring the United States. Evelyn and Roland worked for the LaQuinta/Roadway Motel chain, visiting all states in the continental United States. After retiring yet another time, they chose to live out their senior years in Round Rock, Texas. At this home, their eighth, Evelyn once again maintained a rose garden as she had at each of her previous homes. Evelyn was a nurturing person, whether it was a plant or a bird with a broken wing. When not gardening, she was always crocheting or working on a needlepoint.

Two children blessed this marriage: Roland Walter Teichelman, Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lana Evelyn (Teichelman) Nicholson of Kyle, Texas.

Grandchildren are Jennifer Teichelman and Travis Teichelman, both of Austin; also Paula Nicholson and Alesia Nicholson, both of Round Rock. Great-grandchildren are Victoria Bassat and William Bassat, both of Leander, Texas; also Aurianna Nicholson of Round Rock, Texas. Evelyn has many nephews and nieces.

Evelyn will be forever loved and dearly missed.
