Doris A. Stinson, 69, of Bemidji died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1993, at North Country Regional Hospital. Funeral services were at United Methodist Church. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Stinson was born Aug. 20, 1924, at Puposky to Otto and Hilda Pearson. She grew up in the Puposky area, where she attended the Austin School through eighth grade. She then attended Bemidji High School graduating in 1942. She worked as a waitress at several Bemidji restaurants before her marriage Dec. 20, 1952, in Bemidji to Wayne H. Stinson. She had lived in Bemidji since and cared for children at her home until just a couple of years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chapter 171 Order of the Eastern Star and currently served as chaplain for the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Bernie (Carmen) Stinson of Thief River Falls and David Stinson of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Mary (James) Braaten of Bemidji and Sue (James) Roerig of Embarrass; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Pearson of Bemidji and Dick Pearson of Puposky; four sisters, Vera (Bob) Rubash of Blackduck, Betty (Claude) Lakin of Puposky, Leona (Glen) Koxvold of Laporte and Lucille (Gil) Newmann of Bemidji; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Clifford, who was killed in World War II.
