Michelle Andrea Heaton f. Thompson 1953–2021

Michelle Andrea Heaton, 54, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Michelle was a life-long Topekan born to Keith and Elizabeth “Betty” Sieben Griggs on February 22, 1966. She attended Randolph Elementary School, Boswell Junior High School and graduated from Topeka High School in 1984. On September 29, 2012, Michelle and Roger Heaton were united in marriage.

For well over a decade, Michelle worked for Knudtson and Company CPAs. She served in the worship band at Lifepoint Church and was an officer and member of Daughters of the American Revolution. A 36-year cancer survivor, Michelle volunteered for, raised funds for and participated annually in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and K-State football fan.

Michelle had a beautiful, bright, enthusiastic, optimistic, warm, kind and loving spirit. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Grateful to have shared Michelle’s life are her husband, Roger; daughter, Maggie Sullivan (Ben); siblings, Karen Peterson, Marilyn Griggs-Kozloff, Larry Griggs, Sharon Ziegler and Charlene Mischke; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
