Margaret Ruth "Peggy" Gray Wilson Townsend lived a full, happy 94 years. Because a party was going on somewhere, she was always dressed, ready to go with bows in her hair, adorned with sparkling jewelry.

Born January 26, 1923, in Wichita Falls, Texas, she graduated from WF High School and enrolled at UT-Austin. She belonged to Chi Omega sorority and was a Life Member, Texas Exes Association.

Peggy married Army Air Corps Lt. John W. Wilson on December 25, 1943 in Wichita Falls. Peggy later returned to Austin, where she married Len Townsend in 1972. The couple lived in Spicewood, Texas until Len's death in 1989.

In 2000, Peggy moved to The Continental Retirement Community, Austin. She passed away peacefully in Austin, in the company of family on October 27, 2017, following a short illness.

She is survived by daughters Mary Wilson Roberts (Bill), Cherie Wilson Mills (David), Jeanne Wilson Russell (Bill); stepchildren Mac, Meri Kaye, and Wendy Townsend; grandsons William Roberts (Katherine), David Roberts (Lisa), Scott Russell (Jacqueline), and Ryan Townsend (Christi); great grandchildren Henry, Alice, Wilson, George, and Mary Jayne Roberts, Cyan and Sage Russell, and Lauren Townsend; nephew John Gray (Sandy), nephew Jeff Gray's widow Missy Gray; and nieces Gale Gray, Laura Lee Wilson Baskin (Leland), Tracey Wilson Killion (Mike).

She was predeceased by parents Maggie Davidson and Herbert Scott Gray; brother, John Herbert Gray; nephew Jefferson Scott Gray; stepson Lew Townsend.

The friendships of Louise Davis, Virginia Lawrence, Wendell Sharpton, Clara Hiller, Kris and Ronnie Haddock, Janet Abbott and Mary Beth Sherman meant the world to her.

We will miss her love, sense of humor and sweet Texas twang. She was always ready for an adventure may this be the best one yet!
