Victor Oscar Freeburg was born Mar 22, 1882 in Stanton, Montgomery, IA and died Jan 11, 1953 in Rockport, Essex, MA. He married 1st Mildred E Ekblad on Aug 11, 1922 in New York City. Mildred married 2nd Karl F Miller and died in Pawnee County, Kansas in 1979. Victor married 2nd in the 1940s a woman named Dorothy Dumble (Jun 21, 1910-Apr 15, 1993). When Victor died, she donated his papers and manuscripts to Yale University, where he had graduated with a B.A. Degree in 1905 and an M.A. Degree in 1908. His Ph.D. was from Columbia in 1915. V.O. Freeburg was a world traveler, writer, painter and teacher. He taught at the U.S. Naval Academy, College of the City NY, Haverford College, and Columbia. He edited a Swedish trade journal, taught English and wrote about Elizabethan drama. | |
