Lawrence Nelson Bourn 1935–2011

Nelson was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Pampa to Lawrence Ludwin "Bill" Bourn and Birdean Nelson Bourn. He married Shanna Chewning on Dec. 14, 1957, in Amarillo.

Nelson obtained his B.S. in marketing from Texas A&M in 1957 and his MBA from West Texas State in 1968. He was a retired major from the U.S. Air Force.

He retired from Eastman Kodak after 25 years of service in 1988. He went on to work with MicroImages until his retirement with them in 2000.

During the past several years, he had been working with his son at Southwest Document Solutions. He was an elder at Braeburn Presbyterian Church in Houston, a deacon at First Baptist Church in Onalaska and was recently serving as a deacon at Second Baptist Church-West Campus in Katy.

Nelson, or Dad, as he was affectionately known to most, loved the Lord, his "angel" partner, Shanna, and was happiest when he was with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Shanna; two daughters, Denise Davis and husband Del and Becky Latta and husband Mike; a son, Kyle Bourn and wife Stephanie; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy Eder, Sarah Paredes, Caitlin Eder, Kayla Ball, Zachary Eder, Kelli Atkinson, Brady Atkinson, Blaine Bourn, Trevor Latta and Graham Bourn; two sisters, Nancy Walker and husband Dwayne and Peggy Dicken and husband Buzz; and numerous other relatives and loved ones.
