Donna Anderson passed away at Midwest Covenant Home. Services were held Saturday September 19 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Swede Home. Interment in Stromsburg Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola are in charge of arrangements. Donna was born at the hospital in York to Walter and Elsie (Larson) Twarling. As an infant she was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg. Later in her childhood she was a member of Greens Chapel Methodist Church east of Stromsburg. She attended Pleasant Prairie District 27 rural school. In 1945 she graduated from Stromsburg High School. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for one year. On October 27, 1946 she married Richard N. Anderson at her country home southeast of Stromsburg. To this union 3 daughters and a son were born. After her marriage she joined Calvary Lutheran Church at Swede Home. She served that church in many ways, including Sunday school, church council and the women's group. She was also a member of the statewide Lutheran Women's Organization Board. Over the years Donna worked at the county assessor's office and the office at the Stromsburg High School. She then started working for Lincoln Telephone in December 1973 in Stromsburg, spending 22 years there as a clerk and cashier. Her last working years were spent at the Stromsburg Public Library, which was 5 years. Donna and her husband enjoyed their retirement years visiting their children and grandchildren and helping babysit the great-grandchildren. They made it a "must" to attend the sport and school activities of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Glenn Twarling. | |
